OVERVIEW

The Course is designed to provide practical guidance and training to individuals who are either currently involved in projects or anticipating to be involved in future where FIDIC forms of Contract or one of its derivatives is to be used. The Course is regularly updated to reflect the latest material published by FIDIC and current knowledge of practice in various countries including references to local case laws. The aim of the Course is to deliver effective skills needed for understanding and practicing FIDIC as used in various construction projects. It is envisaged that the course will be of interest and particularly suited for: Architects, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Lawyers and individuals involved in the management of construction projects.

COURSE CONTENT

The program consists of eight modules,
⦁ Module 1: Contract Principles,
⦁ Module 2: Various FIDIC editions,
⦁ Module 3: Introduction of FIDIC 1987 edition,
⦁ Module 4: Introduction of FIDIC 1999 and revised content from 1987 edition,
⦁ Module 5: Project Risks, Risk allocation,
⦁ Module 6: Claims and Claim management,
⦁ Module 7: Dispute Prevention and Resolution,
⦁ Module 8: Dispute Adjudication Boards.

COURSE LENGTH

There is no prescribed duration of the Course. However, Two hours per day study will normally complete the Course in 3 months. However, the duration is directly depend on the time spent and effort given to studies.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

⦁ Credit Pass in English in IGCSE, and
IGCSE or similar with 6 subjects, and
An Engineering or Quantity Surveying Qualification, or
⦁ 3 years experience in an Engineering office, or
⦁ 2 years experience in a supervisory level in Construction.
